Crazed Man or Clues?

Maura Murray disappeared on February 9, 2004 after a one-car accident in Haverville, New Hampshire.  On the afternoon of her disappearance she had  left campus at the University of Massachusetts Anherst  after telling  professors and her work supervisor by e-mail that she was taking a week off due to a family emergency.  There was no family emergency, and her dorm room was found to be packed up.  Maura has not been seen since, however, the following day her boyfriend received a phone call from her but all he could hear was breathing.

Eight years later, and some very creepy videos are showing up online.  A user by the name of Mr112dirtbag has been posting anniversary videos.  It is odd that his username contains 112 as this is the State Route that she had the accident on and was last seen at.  The videos were posted eight years to the day that Maura went missing.  So far, Mr112dirtbag has posted 12 videos on his youtube channel, the last being uploaded three hours ago.  He removed the laughing video, however, James Renner was able to save it an upload it to his youtube and blog.

A second video was posted showing a lift pass for Bretton Woods Ski Resort that was dated two days after Maura’s disappearance.  He has also removed that video.  Maura’s parents have stated that they feel the videos are a cruel hoax.  Whatever they are, this guy must be one fry short of a Happy Meal and obviously has issues by taunting the family on the eighth anniversary of their daughter’s disappearance.  [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0tWGKJGQbQ]

Law enforcement has viewed the videos, and I’m sure they are trying to find out who this guy is, but honestly…he skeeves me out.  Can you say skin dress?  What do you think?

On the Boston FOX station they had a criminologist view the video, and Mr112dirtbag has posted a video pointing this fact out.  So, he’s watching the media response to his shenanigans.

I think Topix is the sphincter hole of the internet, but some interesting stuff on here.
    http://www.topix.com/forum/city/franconia-nh/T0DQUJ4P593IE7SE6/p645

    More I found online:

A number of posters on Renner’s blog weren’t willing to dismiss the videos so easily. Several speculated that 112dirtbag was a poster on the Franconia, NH Topix board with the username Beagle, based on a resemblance between Beagle’s user picture and the man in the Happy Anniversary video. Beagle posted frequently and obsessively about Maura’s disappearance, usually presenting a bizarre theory about her (and other young college women) being kidnapped to have their eggs harvested and resold to fertility clinics. Beagle posted on other forums as well, often using the name storagehead or storagehead@gmail.com, and he also keeps a blog titled Passing Through Town which, like his Topix posts, are a strange mix of erudition and creepiness. And more to the point, it was apparently Beagle who, just after the Fox News interview with the police, created a Youtube user account called Mr112dirtbag and started posting more videos.

Proxies aren’t difficult to follow back to base. He could use an Internet Cafe, but they can be watched, and I suppose he could reroute a couple of times, but this is complicated technical stuff and even that can be followed, a half decent Hacker could track him, and I wouldn’t mind betting LE employs such people. This man is at best Stalking and Harassing, although I’m really not sure what your First Amendment allows.
      He sounds dangerous to me.

He’s not doing anything illegal and is expressing free speech – tasteless and cruel if he is in fact only taunting the family. Turns out that the ski pass was posted on 112dirtbag and storagehead youtube account. Both videos have been removed, and the 112dirtbag account has been closed. I haven’t delved too deep into it, but storagehead aka Beagle is a poster on the Maura Murray topix forum. They posted a photo of him and it very much resembles the man in the video. Seems beagle is a bit unhinged.

If we have to decide what it is or when is it is abused… we are in trouble kind of like when is something pornography and when is it art? I think the slander and liable laws are the guidelines.

I suppose he has every right to post whatever he likes, but it’s still disgusting, cruel and a sign he has issues.I think the Feds couldve quietly found the IP or whatever info they cared to have, proxy or not.
Creepy creepy creepy….I dont understand anyone doing anything like this for any other reason but sickness. Its not a ‘memorial’ type thing, asking people to remember she’s still missing.
    Ick. just ick.

Beagle is not any more obsessive as a poster than are most on the Maura Murray Topix thread(s). He has his theories, which are not necessarily any farther “out there” than the theories of many others in this case — I’ve been following it for most of the 8 years and have yet to see Beagle post anything the least bit nasty or mean about Maura. Quite a few posters believe or are hopeful that Maura is out there somewhere, alive and well and living her own life rather than the life that others possibly wanted her to live. If that is true, and if “112dirtbag” is the poster known as Beagle, then the Happy Anniversary video is most likely directed to Maura in acknowledgment of her new life that began on February 9, 2004, and with laughter towards those who don’t get it. Try thinking of it as a wish and a hope rather than assuming it must be meant in a bad way.

I sure hope that is what it is. I tried to read the topix forum, but that place is a madhouse. Topix is akin to the sphincter hole of the internet. LOL I guess I just don’t understand the other videos, and sorry but the maniacal laughter was disturbing. Do they give this guy a hard time on topix? There were way too many pages for me to sift through, and didn’t see anything by him so I don’t know.

He’s not usually given a hard time on Topix. Most are agreed that his posted theories are sorta “way out there”, but many of us think that frankly those theories are spoofs on the fact that theories get posted over and over and over again by various Topix posters who are just sold on “it must have happened this way” even though there is no evidence, or theories they hold to in face of the evidence we do have. In other words, from Beagle’s point of view, there is just as much evidence for his way out theories as there is for any other theory at this point because we have so few facts, and that’s kind of the point he’s making.

He is probably the most original thinker we have on Maura’s Topix sites, though. One of his posted theories has been that she was involved with possibly selling her eggs to one of the institutes or programs in Amherst that work on reproduction, in vitro fertilization, etc. It sounds way out, but strictly speaking if Maura needed money in order to carry out a disappearance plan, that would be one way she could have gotten the money. So she could have had much more cash than the couple hundred she is known to have taken from her bank account. Looked at from that direction, it’s not such a way out idea.

Thanks for the explanation. You’re right. With so little information and factual evidence, anything is possible. Selling eggs can be quite profitable. I see ads for it all the time.

I know if it was my daughter who was missing and I got one of those videos, I would think that this guy is the one who did it. He is a scary person. That video is also scary. I feel sorry for the parents of this girl. Not knowing where she is and thinking she is probably dead. And then to get a video like these. They will never have a moment of going on with their life ever again.

I believe both..a “monster” who is showing clues. A depraved individual for sure..to anyone who thinks otherwise? Would you feel that way if it were YOUR missing daughter?

Beagle ‘IS’ mr112Dirtbag – compare his profile picture to the video’s. Same ears, same lines beside the mouth, same flattened nose, same acne scars, hairline, teeth.

Definitely just a random lunatic looking to attach himself to this mystery. It’s funny, Renner so quickly dismisses any theory outside of Maura running away, but puts so much focus and attentive on this nutcase. His ski pass means nothing, lots of people ski in that area. Had it been a receipt for that store near the accident on the same day, that would have got my attention. I’m pretty sure police have talked with him, there’s no connection. Renner for whatever reason wants to dwell and make a spectacle out of it, even if it goes against his narrative that he tries to keep to help with future book sales.

Hadn’t thought of this guy in awhile, but yeah…he’s out there. I think maybe he is just one of those people who gets great joy in watching others hurt.
