Steubenville Pastor Everett Mitchell INDICTED

Pastor Everett C. Mitchell, 40, of 1644 Roosevelt Ave. was indicted on two counts each of sexual battery and attempted sexual battery, single counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and sexual imposition. Mitchell is the pastor at Tower of Power Ministries, Steubenville, Ohio. I would also like to mention that the ONLY local media to report his indictment is the newspaper. Once again, local news WTOV9 is silent on a matter of public interest.

I have known about this case for a few years and know that YEARS ago one of the young ladies told her principal at Big Red (Steubenville High School). The principal (although I don’t know who was at that time) accompanied one of the girls to the police department to report the sexual abuse. Nothing happened. No charges were brought. Nothing. In fact, Everett Mitchell threatened both victims that if they went to the police he would destroy their lives. His parishioners shunned the girls and their mother for making the accusations. He told them that sexually assaulting them is what fathers do to their daughters to show how much he loves them and to teach them how to have sex. He abused them in the church.

Mitchell’s wife, who refers to herself as the “First Lady” was informed of the sexual abuse. She did NOTHING.

Mitchell is a volunteer coach at (wait for it) Steubenville High School. The question is why is he a coach there when the principal accompanied one of the victims to the police department to report the abuse and KNEW of the allegations. My friend has been trying for years to force the authorities to do something about Mitchell. Not only was her child abused, but Mitchell sexually abused an adult. If there are other victims out there, now is the time to speak out.

Certain Steub locals are already chiming in with their rape excuses regarding Mitchell:

    From Facebook:
Rena Koski Duco What does one have to do with the other? It’s 2019! Religion was taken out of schools years ago…volunteering to assist your child in a sport they are involved in hardly constitutes being a ‘coach’. This story has nothing to do with the other. Please don’t spin this into a shit storm that My Family has already weathered. I don’t know any facts about this, nor do I care. However, consider the families that are innocent in other family member’s doings. I personally, didn’t put a particular Toronto Family in the limelight about the wrong doing of a family member because, I know that My house has windows and I’m not a stone thrower. Carry on! But, please be considerate of the family, friends and acquaintances you may be offending.

I’m just going to start posting the comments here from the people that still think rape is okay. If there was not enough evidence for a grand jury to indict, there would be no charges.

Keep on doubting the two women who were little girls when he did this to them. It went on for YEARS, but you just keep on telling what a nice guy he is.

From the church’s statement of faith (which was completely plagiarized, by the way) but this is interesting since I can tell you of one parishioner who laid in her home deceased for days with no one checking on her. Well, until someone showed up to collect her tithe envelope.

Tithing is God’s command for His people to give to His work through local congregations. A tithe is 10 percent of one’s gross (before taxes) income. We believe the Bible supports paying one’s tithe to his or her local congregation.

Offerings are financial gifts above and beyond the tithe. They are commonly targeted toward a specific church project, such as a compassionate outreach or other event, or the purchase or construction of facilities. They can also be given as an indication of trusting God for a specific need in your personal life.

This too will pass, i am a member of the Tower of Power Ministries. He is innocent until proven guilty. So sad that it is posted everywhere as if already convicted. To put a picture of him at the pulpit and display my church makes me sick at heart. Has no one thought of all the hurt on both sides involved. I too am of disbelief of this act. Time and truths will answer all. I pray for all involved especially i pray for my church , the families and my Pastor.

He is innocent until proven guilty in the eyes of the law. That is for a jury of his peers to decide. As for public opinion, and the young girls that he sexually abused — he is G-U-I-L-T-Y! I’ve known about this for YEARS and I have watched as women in that church have harassed, intimidated and threatened the mother of one of these girls. They harassed and shit talked the girls. Shame on all of you for believing his word over the word of not one, but THREE women who told of what he did to them. As far as a picture at the pulpit…he is not above reproach because he stands behind one.

and by the way…there are other victims and I hope like hell they come forward! His reign of terror is OVER.
