Domestic Violence Awareness

Over the years, I have had many women contact me seeking help out of violent and abusive relationships.  I am by no means a professional counselor or trained in how to counsel abuse victims, but I do what I can to help them find resources in their local area to assist in preparing their exit plan or to find shelter.  Recently, a friend became involved with a man who has a long, documented history of…

We Didn't Know What Rape Was

MARK COLE: Mark Cole II, 17, said the victim was leaving one house and was so intoxicated she could barely walk. “She wasn’t capable of walking on her own and was stumbling as walking,” Cole said. Cole said he shot a video of sexual conduct in his car between Mays and the victim as they were driving to Cole’s house. Cole said he later deleted the video from his phone. He said, at his house,…

Fraudulent Boycott Activity

I just finished reading Presumed Guilty: Casey Anthony: The Inside Story by Jose Baez and found it to be VERY interesting and insightful.  It answered so many questions regarding his defense strategy and I have the utmost respect for him as a defense attorney.  He pulled off what was thought to be a slam-dunk case for the State.  His book has also made the New York Times Best Sellers list. It is getting great reviews…unless you…

Oh, the Irony

I just read a tweet that I find dripping with irony and am I am truly appalled — first of all that these people are HARASSING an innocent person because his church may or may not have given refuge to the woman they are criminally stalking.  Secondly, that church would not have to have chains and no trespassing signs if it were not for the mouth breathers who  have the big O at the thought…

Justice Redefined?

Justice…I’ve seen the word bandied about plenty over the past few months, and I am truly trying to figure out how there is ever justice in a child’s murder case.  Will their cries for justice bring back a dead child that had she not been cute and white – they probably wouldn’t give a crap about anyhow.  How does calling for the death of her mother actually provide justice for Caylee?  Are their caws for…
